About Us

What's behind the name CEDAR+SEVENS?

CEDAR represents strength, stability, growth, and resilience. Known for its durability and resistance to decay, cedar has long been valued for its ability to endure the test of time. This mirrors the way we approach your financial plan - building it to last, with virtue-driven guidance at our core.

SEVENS, on the other hand, represent completeness and perfection. Across many cultures and traditions, the number seven is seen as a symbol of wholeness - something that embodies balance and alignment. We see sevens as a reminder of the holistic approach we take to wealth management.

Our Story

Growing up just outside of St. Louis, some of the most valuable financial lessons I learned didn’t come from a textbook - they came from conversations around my grandfather’s dinner table. As I got older, I began to understand the impact of his guidance on our family. That understanding deepened when I saw firsthand how a financial advisor’s insights shaped my own college decision. Simple but powerful strategies - like how extra mortgage payments affect principal or how private colleges can offer more scholarships than state schools - completely changed the trajectory of my family’s financial future. That experience sparked a lifelong passion for helping others make informed decisions that create lasting change.

I attended William Jewell College, a private liberal arts college outside Kansas City, where I earned a degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Management Leadership. More importantly, it’s where I met my wife, Jessica. We’ve since made Wichita, KS, our home, and I’ve been fortunate to serve this community through board positions with Exploration Place, the Andover YMCA, and the Financial Planning Association of Kansas. I have been in the financial services industry since 2010 and have been a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® Professional since 2017.

Life is anything but quiet in our household - we have been blessed with two sets of twins (yes, you read that right!). Brendall and Beckett are 10, and Kelton and Kennedi are 7. Our family chaos wouldn’t be complete without our three dogs: Charlie, a Whoodle; Nora, a Schnoodle; and Goldie, a Golden Mountain Doodle. When I’m not chasing kids or stepping over dogs, I enjoy riding my motorcycle, woodworking, squeezing in a round of golf, and strengthening my faith at Newspring church.
